Hello! I'm a pretty new user of Unfold3D VS and I love the software. It's very powerful and in a short time, I've found a process that's integrates with my own personal pipeline. In particular, grouping is the feature I use far more than any other. It really helps me organize and present production quality UVs.
I do have a request:
Can we save or preserve groups somehow between sessions?
Our work is usually highly iterative and often requires going back and forth between a modeling app and Unfold3D to fix mesh errors or optimize geo. It's a real productivity killer to keep losing that organizational power especially when I have UV stacks I want to preserve (and groups are the only way to do that as far as I know).
Thanks for listening!

Hi,
Groups are currently saved into OBJ files only. But if you recreate the file using your DCC the group information will be deleted.
Which mena there is no way for now to preserve that information if your mesh file change.
I could do a specific file format that saved such info in a separate file and you could re-import it later. I think I can associate polygons to groups. So if you don't delete or add any polygons when you edit your mesh file, the groups could be re-imported. What do you think of it ?

Hi
I know this is quite an old thread, I found it when searching around the same problem,
I think this would be a good idea to add, if you are working on a complex model that needs multiple sessions or iterations, it would be great to be able to keep groups
Thanks Simon

It will be a good solution if we be able to save "project" file from RizomUV, like proprietary files .c4d .max .mb etc.
