Is there an option to stitch two islands, like in Max ?

Hi, guys.
I really wonder, if there's an option to connect two islands by stitching them with a common edge
? As I want to have one, "parent", island parked and another one, "child", moved and tied to the common selected edge. Autodesk calls this option "Stitch" in UnwrapUVW modifier. A very helpful option to assemble the island from the smaller segments after cut and pelt.
Any suggestions?
