Hi, I have UVed a simple OBJ which has just simple squared UV-shells, when I unfold it I get this: is there a way to straighten the UV shells?

Hi Sedor, By "straighten" I suppose you mean the island by horizontal or vertical isn't it ? Unfold doesn't orient vertically or horizontally the islands, however you can do this in tree ways: 1. Using the "rectangularize" features series:To use them, in polygon selection mode (F3) select the polygons then press the "rectangularize horizontal" or "rectangularize vertical" feature buttons. 2. Using, "Pack":Press 'P' to pack all island, they will be also re-oriented depending of the options of '1'. Or select some islands and press 'P', the selected island will be repacked and reoriented. 3. Using vertical and horizontal constrains:
In edge selection mode (press 'F2'), select some edges, then add constrains on it using the following buttons (denoted '2' in the following picture) Then place the mouse pointer over an island and press 'U', this will re-unfold the island with horizontal or vertical constrain, so that it will orient the island each time the they are unfolded or optimized. Tell me if you need more explanation.

Thank you Remi!
I tried it with your given 1. - the problem with that way is that then all sided have the same length, the original side ratio isn't kept.
Anyway, 2. did the trick, I am pretty sure I did it before, but... looks like not, it works! Thanks for your help!
