I like that you have exposed a number of your commands, so they can be assigned a hotkey. Will it be possible to assign a hotkey to any command? For example, I'd like to change the "Edge Horizontal" command to something less difficult to press. I was hoping I could at least assign a command to something in the script log.
If I understand well, you would want 2 different things:
1. Having the possibility to edit/remap the hotkeys to features (by feature I mean something that is launch-able by a button or by a entry of the menu-bar) 2. Create a shortcut to a custom script that you could write yourself. Thoses scripts would be saved on hardisk and a their file paths would be saved into the preferences files, so that you would maintain them at each restart of Unfold3D.
For 1: I could do a dedicated dialog for that. That is require some work. You could also tell me the hotkeys you would want on that thread: unfold3d.boards.net/thread/76/vote-new-shortcuts, then I could simply change some hotkeys using your suggestions for a start. If there is too much changes needed, we will code the hotkey edit dialog.
For 2: Yes, that would be possible. For this ones, would it be ok that thoses scripts be hardwired to hotkeys Alt-1 / Alt-2 / Alt-3 / Alt-4 ? 8 custom scripts would be enough ?
Please confirm me that I well understood what you are waiting for.
Yes, both of those would be great. Thank you. The real issue I have is that any of the hotkeys for features that use "alt" and any combination of keys beyond V, F, and R are really difficult for me to use. I wish I could change a few of these. It's not a gamebreaker. I just don't like having to take my hand off of my mouse to use a shortcut.
I'm sorry I reread my original question and I realize it was a little confusing.
I see perfectly what you mean. Some hotkeys are not well chosen under Unfold3D. We must change that. Thank you for telling us which are the most used hotkeys so that we can reserve them the more accessible hotkeys.
