Hi All, I am hoping I can find help here to straighten out a curved UV shell. I need to make it easier to apply a straight shaped material in Substance Painter. Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Hi
Select the edges on the borders, then apply them horizontal and vertical constrains to the respective horizontal and vertical edges. Then re-optimize the island(s) using key "O".

Hi Remi,
Thanks for such a fast reply!
I can select the borders, but how do you apply the constraints? Is the a part of a video to show this, or can you demonstrate?
Thanks

Select some edges, then go to the panel "Unwrap" (top left), you'll find the button easily

Hi Remi, I'm still finding trouble with this...so first I select the two sides, select horizontal edgesthen select horizontal constrainThen optimise. This does not appear to do anything.I have also tried the 'straighten' function in the align section...but to no avail. I'm sure it is straightforward when you know the flow, but I need a little assistance if possible. Thanks very much.

Can you try with disabling prevent FLIP and prevent OVERLAPS?

I've just noticed your reply here, thanks. I managed to get the constraints in to place, thank you...and the FLIP and OVERLAPS were active I think. I then looked to use Optimise when the drilled holes in the shell became distorted. This has a very strange effect where the shell distorted everywhere.
