This program desperately needs (A) "Toggle Isolate"
feature. First hit will isolate selected piece, second hit will show everything that is NOT marked as hidden. Show will unhide what was hidden.
(B) Select Primitive will be very handy.
Further explanation:
(A) Toggle isolate
Perfect Workflow:
1. Model with 233 objects
2. Select one piece, select similar, and hit "Toggle Isolate selected".
3. Cut the lines, hide what is done, cut rest of isolated piece
4. Toggle Isolate = reveals everything, that is NOT hidden
5. Moving on next object.
Current Workflow
1. Model with 233 objects
2. Select one piece, select similar, Isolate selected
3. Cut the lines, hide what is done, cut rest of isolated piece
4. Show (everything)
5. Isolate nonmanifold
6. Moving on next object object
Issues:
(B) Select Primitive
At start, we have one object (of many) = one island. This unwrapped island will be cutted into several islands. While working with hundreds of pieces we get alot of islands and only way to select whole one piece, is by material (if prepared) or island by island (lasso etc), while keeping track what is hidden beneath other piece, unselecting what is not a part of this particular part of mesh. But could be simplier, just by selecting Object, linked to those islands.
So selection in UI Edit section could be:
1. Point
2. Edge
3. Polygon
4. Island
5. Object

Issues:
- When you need to use isolate again on sublevel of isolated piece (often hidden under other piece) and you hit Show, then Isolate NonManifold - you can easily end up with hidden unfinished pieces to hunt, like this: ibb.co/czb3Q8
- Yes I can use Flat, but again i lose my sight over last piece i was worked on. It could be handled with several buttons of course, but toggle will simplify actions.
- Yes, i can use Auto Isolate Island, but when i isolate two pieces i wanted to work on, selecting edges and clicking on one of them automatically hide first. And if you "forget" to unselect point/edge on one piece, switching to Primitive mode island (F4), then select different island, it will isolate island with forgotten point/edge.
