Hi everyone,
I wanted to request an option to export to .fbx with Unfold3d.
Unfortunately, with Maya, you cannot import an .obj with groups. It will automatically combine the entire .obj into one object. The only way to resolve this is by going to Mesh > Seperate and re-naming and organizing the mesh.
This can be difficult for production pipelines where meshes are named and combined for specific baking.
Thank you!

I see that .fbx was added in the latest version. Thank you!

I had the exact same problem - testing out Unfold3D with Maya. I see that under preferences there is an option to set the compatibility/version of fbx, but under file/export.. I can only export obj's - am I missing smth? where do I change the export settings to fbx?
btw: thanks for your great tutorials! Cheers, Toby

I am using Unfold3D Virtual Spaces 2017.0.27.g2c0aab2.master which seems to be the latest version as of today I am not at computer right now but I think it is like most programs, the save dialog window has obj as default for unfold3d but you should notice it is a dropdown box. Should be able to click and select fbx.
