I ve posted already in the General Thread, but no answear. I let my problem here in hope that somebody has an answer Is possible to decompose an object and to export it separatly based on the materials in u3d? My problem: i have an FBX with one object, but multiple parts(materials). So when i select a material the relative uvs and polys are selected form different tiles. I want to save each parts of the model separatly based on materials in order to bake the normals in Zbrush, where the high polys(separate subtools) are. Is this possible with U3d? Thanks.

Hey Fluke, as far as I know, you cannot detach and export separate parts of a mesh, because Unfold3D does not affect mesh geometry at all. I would recommend to go with Substance Painter for baking, it has Match By Mesh name feature so you don't need to explode stuff in order to bake more correctly. Anyway, since it's U3D forum, I would suggest to unfold/pack, go back to your 3D app and do the separating. Hope I understood you correctly and my answer was somehow helpful. Cheers.
