I tried looking around the forums but never came across this. Is there a way to align an entire island based on one of its selected edges? As in, I have an edge on an island at some arbitrary angle that I would like to be co-linear to either vertical or horizontal. When I execute this action, the island would rotate to align this selected edge to the desired orthogonal.

Hi Local306,
There is no possibility to do this in one click. However you can do this:
1- select an edge. 2- apply Horizontal or vertical constrain on it 3- update unfold by hovering the island and pressing 'U'
That will reorient the island but also update the unfolding.

Nice! I never knew applying the direction constraint to an edge worked that way

Hi pixelsim! Doesn't look like it. Maybe we'll see this feature in the upcoming major releases. The Devs are doing a remarkable job. Stay tuned!

"Align Island Horizontally to Selection" and "Align Island Vertically to Selection" are now in 2018.0.149
(As well as the multi-threaded packing. You may update)
