Bonsoir!
My workflow has exposed unusual or unexpected behavior in Unfold 3D. Perhaps there's an easy fix or workaround.
What I normally do is UV my unique items, including items I plan to mirror to another side of a bilaterally symmetrical model, e.g., a spaceship (which I'm working on now). This lets me handle complicated pieces once and symmetrically instead of creating UVs for them twice. Normal workflow for many.
Before mirroring items, I will generally reset the meshes (transform/scale) and then mirror them using my brother's excellent 'Automat' script, available on Scriptspot.
However, when I bring everything back to Unfold 3D (Load UV), all of the mirrored items are black, or not 'unfolded' and are not showing the Unfold UV testmap I generally have enabled. The shells are the same as the source shells and I can unfold them and optimize them again, but I'd like them to come in normally if possible. Although it's easy enough to re-unfold the black or unfolded meshes, it resets my rotations for everything.
Any ideas about this? I'd prefer to keep unfolding only the unique portions of the mesh using the mirroring workflow before I pack all UVs together later (unique UV space).
Thanks!
Dan

Hi Dan
Thank you for the report. That's a feature. Currently flipped UV are displayed black and once you re-unfold / optimize them they come flip back.
Yes there is work to do there.
