Is it possible to use multiple UV Channels? I saw an old forum post that said it would be possible to do with an .fbx in the next version (which I am assuming is this version). I tried it, but I don't see anywhere to switch between the uv channels.
Thanks!

Hi David
As this feature require much work, we reported it. However I have some question about it:
1- Do you simply want to load multiple UV channels and work on only one at a time, then switch from one to another and save the whole thing in a single file, OR 2- To be able to display multiple UV channels at a time and be able to pack them in a same UV tile for example ?
Is it a gamebreaker for you if that feature is not present ? Could you please tell me how much is it important for you ? It would help us to prioritize our work.
Thank you very much for your feedback.

Hi Remi,
I would like to be able to do the first. In my current workflow, I use a plugin to send my mesh using a specified uv channel to UV Layout. If I could load all three uv channels and switch between them in Unfold3d that could make the fact that I have manually import/export to Unfold3d ok. I really would need this feature. We use up to 3 channels on all of our objects, and if I couldn't do this it would keep me from using Unfold3d, unfortunately.
Thank you very much for taking my feedback!

Hi David,
Thank you for telling me clearly how much it is important for you. The Multiple UV tile feature with FBX file will then be implemented as soon as possible at priority number 1.

Your welcome. However don't expect it to come before next month as this feature require serious work.

Hi David,
A important question. In case your FBX file contains several mesh objects. Can I assume that all theses mesh objects have the same number of UV set and that each UV set have the same names ?
For example: Suppose I have a scene containing two objects: Head and Torse. And that these two objects have some UV sets. Would it be ok if we assume that:
Head contains: - UVSet "Diffuse" - UVSet "AO"
Torse contains also: - UVSet "Diffuse" - UVSet "AO"
Could you please tell me if that restriction would be ok for your pipeline ?

Hi Remi,
Yes, that is exactly how I would do it. I would only send over meshes that are using the same uv sets.
Thanks!

I really like what you've done. Is there any chance of having the option to export the fbx out as an older version? I know this is annoying, but Modo doesn't have anything past 2015. I'm sorry to make an additional request on top of what you've already done.

Thank you David.
Don't be sorry for making additional request. That's our job to make Unfold3D VS better and better.
Yes, I will try to see if it is possible to save in an older format and I think it is.
You'll get an update in the week.

David,
I uploaded the 0.10.7 for that. Just look at the preference dialog. I don't have modo. Hope the export <=> import will work on both sides.
The switches for FBX version are relevant for the FBX export only.
Please tell me if it solved your problem.
