I was working through a beginner tutorial at Lesterbanks and only got as far as the Enable/Disable Symmetry before running into a problem- it doesn't appear to work for me. Toggling it on/off I was expecting to see the object shade along one side as in the tutorial, but it did not. Selecting one side with it active did not result in a symmetric selection. Here is my simple cube that I used to test this showing the symmetry line: I've now also found that pack isn't working. None of the buttons in the Layout [Global] seem to work or the shortcuts for them. The Unfold command works though..Does anyone know why this might be happening? I am using RizomUV Real Space 2018.0.103 Thanks! -G Attachments:

I uninstalled and then downloaded a slightly newer version- 2018.0.171 Same issues- no symmetry, unable to pack using keyboard shortcuts or the button. I thought it might be a bizarre bug where changing the interface to C4D caused problems but even the default Rizom UI setup results in this. This is most perplexing and I have a great deal work to do. Attachments:

I've asked our IT staff to check if the license server is somehow not working.
I am wondering if this is the case of software functionality degrading because the licensing is somehow not in order. We've certainly paid for an RS license and this was working wonderfully previously.
Anyone? Help ...?

During continued troubleshooting this morning I loaded an FBX cube from C4D into Rizom RS 2018.0.171 Now when I enabled symmetry mode I get a change in display that I wasn't getting before, but it still doesn't use symmetry as you can see in the image. And still, all of the cut tools work, as well as Unfold Selected but the Pack tool does nothing. This thing with the symmetry mode display suddenly working made me think it might be a driver issue and maybe the UVs were being packed but the display was glitched. However, I saved out the cube along with the UVs from Rizom and the bad, unpacked UVs are coming with it (see below)

Remi Arquier Do you have any idea what might be causing Rizom to act like this? It was working great as an evaluation copy, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or if there is some sort of license problem. If we are unable to find a solution we'll need to start looking at a refund.

I'm working with our IT department to make sure I'm authenticating to the license server, it looks like that's not functioning properly

Remi Arquier Great, thank you for letting me know. Can you please advise here when there is a new version I can download and use?

Is anyone else experiencing these issues on their copies of Rizom RS? I can't help but wonder if I'm doing something on my end because these are just the basic tools of such a complex piece of software. I can probably live without the symmetry tool but I'm concerned that other tools are broken as well. I've confirmed with our IT team that when I run Rizom it is properly checking out a license from their license server. The Unfold tool still seems to work correctly, even if it unfolds it to a giant size compared to the UV space. When I selected all of the UV islands and scaled them uniformly (using the Tab key tools) to fit, Rizom coloured all of the faces red indicating extreme stretch, though I am not sure why. I also manually welded the ends of the box to see if that functionality works, it seems to. Since the Pack tool is broken, I'll have to manually rescale and pack the unwraps myself, defeating the purpose of our buying Rizom. Remi Arquier I didn't see an update as of yet but I will keep checking. Please let me know if there is anything I can do on my end to solve these problems.

Hello
The bug with the polygon selection has been solved in the beta version. Please connect to our discord server and go to "announce channel" to get the link toward the fixed version.
With the RS version, At the moment you change the original size of the island (using "Fit" or the transform tools), you create some stretching, and this stretching which is shown by the red (ot blue) color.

Thank you Remi Arquier - I've updated to the version I saw on the server this morning: RizomUV.2018.0.210.g4d12b21.working_set_system.2019-03-12 Unfortunately it fails to start because of: "No License Found: Rejected actively from license server" I've had to open a ticket with our IT department on this because they run the license server and I have no access to it. Will we need to make updates to our license server every time we update Rizom?

The tools continue not to function, even with this new version. Because IT is still unable to get the license server to give the new version a license, I can only start the demo. Unfortunately it doesn't work either. Pack and Fit do not work, though Fit command does give me a confirmation window about resizing, but then does nothing. I've attached a screen showing the new version I'm running and the tool ribbon in case there's something amiss there.

Remi Arquier So the issue was that we needed to generate a new license file now that I've upgraded to the new version. Once that is done I will check if the basic functionality is still broken and report back.

Remi Arquier Our license server won't provide a license for the new version, how do we fix this?

Remi Arquier Actually, since my license expired on 8 March, the license server can't supply a license to the updated version. But since the updated version is still broken beyond use, we will not be renewing. If you can provide me with a version that functions again then I would be happy to reconsider.
