[3dsMax] Import Export Bridge Addon

Hello username,
It's a bridge for UVs editing between two programs:
3DSMax by Autodesk and RizomUV/RizomVU by RizomLab
Bridge video overview/tutorial:
How to install:
- Drag'n'Drop into 3dsmax viewport or 3dsmax>Scripting>Run Script> Select RizomUV bridge MZP file (Sometimes administrator rights needed)
After setup you will see RizomUV icon at main toolbar.
How it works:
In 3dsmax:
- Select object or multiple objects
- Select editing mode
- Press RizomUV (button with RizomUV logo)
In RizomUV:
- Create or edit UVs
- Press Save
After pressing Save button in RizomUV - will be closed, 3DSMax window will reappear and UVs will be assigned like modifiers on object or objects.
Buttons description:
- Big button with RizomUV logo - send selected objects to RizomUV, objects must be editable poly, if you have an modifiers stack - script will collapse it to editable poly automatically. So be careful.(Free version only)
- Right Mouse Button (RMB) click on mode options(new,edit,preset) open current Lua script with notepad. So you can edit it and save, or save as a new preset.
- RMB click on dropbox (presets list) - reload/update presets list.
Extended edition only:
- Small "S" button at top/right corner - Settings panel. Allows to pre define almost all settings for RizomUV/RizomUV
- AutoOps tab in settings panel - Allows you to send object to RizomUV and make predefined operation on it.
- Non-destructive workflow - it keeps modifiers(or trying to keep)
- Works with UV channels from 1 to 99
- Faster exchange between 3dsmax and RizomUV
- Added FBX support
How to edit a preset file:
- In RizomUV/RizomUV open a Script and Command log window (default shortcut "L")
- And you will see log for changed commands/parameters, so you can select necessary lines and copy/paste them into preset file, and that's it.
Script requirements:
- 3dsmax 2012/2013/2014/2015/2016/2017/2018
- Preferably to have installed latest ServicePacks for any 3dsmax version
- RizomUV 2017.0.127. Older versions are not supported.
Troubleshooting(possible fixes):
- Lua error after model opening in RizomUV/RizomUV or "RizomUV 3D was closed without save!"
example if you load lua script manually you'll get this error: -- [string ""]:1: unexpected symbol near char(239)
To fix this you have to:
3dsmax>Customize>Preferences>File>File String Data Handling - Configuration should be like on image.
It happens when your system has char encoding or depends from language setup and 3dsmax generate text files with UTF-8-BOM format against UTF-8.
- "RizomUV was closed without save!" or in case of unexpected error
Clean installation could help. So delete all old bridge files of folder here: "Your drive:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\MaxVersion\ENU\scripts\RizomUVBridge\". And here "C:\RizomUVBridge_TMP". And install bridge again. For install use latest version of bridge 1.08 and latest RizomUV 2018.0.70.
- Script doesn't send or receive models - Try different formats OBJ or FBX - sometimes for max version 2018 OBJ doesn't work so try with FBX , these options are in Bridge Settings tab.
- My bridge doesn't work after Troubleshooting(possible fixes):
Please post logs in this thread from 3dsmax listener (shortcut "F11") and RizomUV(shortcut "L") will think together how to fix a problem.
